I love chopping up kimono and re-imagining them: for this look, a mature and elegant male "Wa Aristocrat" style, I took the pattern off a kurotomesode (a black formal women's kimono type) and hand-sewed it onto an old favorite coat of mine. Photo by ~stratamander, retouching by me. :)
